The Program Coordinator will support Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia (CHESA) with a wide range of activities with internal and external stakeholders. They will assist the Co-Director and Program Manager with CHESA internal and external communications, including gathering and assembling relevant news, opportunities, and developments for the CHESA newsletter and social media presence and identifying opportunities for and implementing website updates.

The Coordinator will coordinate and implement the development and delivery of a robust series of webinars featuring UCSF faculty and partners from around the globe. In this role, they will coordinate and provide support on planning meetings and webinars, including identifying speakers, curating and sharing background material and agendas, and Zoom links to internal and external audiences, and document and archive minutes and artifacts. The Coordinator will also prepare regular reports for the Director and Program Manager on the performance metrics of the webinar series and make suggestions based on the data.

This position will coordinate knowledge management for CHESA, including maintaining project files, databases and members lists. The Program Coordinator will work with the Program Manager to manage progress against CHESA’s workplan and support CHESA project activities as needed. In this role, the Program Coordinator will support the Program Manager in the negotiation of outgoing subaward and vendor agreement scopes of work, ensure all agreement paperwork is completed and submitted to supply chain management, monitor invoices, and support with amendments.

The Program Coordinator is also anticipated to engage in other activities with CHESA Co-Directors and Program Manager, such as desk research, report writing, expense reconciliation, and the coordination of health equity related activities across schools and departments.

Work location: remote until 10/1/2021, Mission Hall afterwards.

Please note: This is a full-time contract position ending on 6/30/2022.

The Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia (CHESA) seeks to advance equity in surgery, anesthesia, and perioperative care worldwide. As a hub at UCSF for faculty, staff, trainees, and partners working to increase equity in perioperative care globally, CHESA engages multidisciplinary stakeholders across disciplines in health and population health to enhance individual and collective impact.

About IGHS
UCSF’s Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) is dedicated to improving health and reducing the burden of disease in the world’s most vulnerable populations. It integrates UCSF expertise in all of the health, social, and biological sciences, and focuses that expertise on pressing issues in global health. GHS works with partners in countries throughout the world to achieve these aims. IGHS seeks to improve health worldwide, especially in developing countries, through research that informs policy.

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
•    1+ years of professional office experience or related experience
•    Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs
•    Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
•    Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
•    Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
•    Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail
•    Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes

Preferred Qualifications

•    Foreign language proficiency, preferably Spanish or French
•    Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques
•    Experience with Zoom, Moodle, Articulate, WordPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Canva
•    Familiar with Zoom, Google Suite, and project management platforms
