CHESA is fundraising to support colleagues in Uganda caring for COVID-19 patients and building critical care and preoperative capacity. Uganda is a country where many UCSF faculty have long-standing partnerships focused on patient care, quality improvement, cutting edge research, and educational exchange.

Uganda is seeing a dramatic rise in the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths amid a severe vaccine shortage. Many frontline medical providers, such as those intubating and caring for critically ill patients, are unvaccinated and at risk for contracting COVID-19; among these frontline workers are long-time UCSF collaborators and friends.

UCSF is supporting its partners including professional societies, foundations, hospitals, and universities in raising funds to procure urgent supplies for providers and patients alike, such as personal protective equipment, meals for frontline workers, and oxygen concentrators, and oxygen delivery devices. You can support this effort by donating here.
