Dr. Odi Ehie & Dr. Coleen Sabatini named Vice Chairs

Dr. Odi Ehie has been named Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the UCSF Department of Anesthesia, and Dr. Coleen Sabatini has been named Vice Chair of Health Equity and Academic Affairs in the Department of Orthopedics.

2021 CHESA Seed Grant Recipients Announced

Building a Health Equity Curriculum for Anesthesia and Surgery Residents

UCSF medical students and Anesthesia Division of Global Health Equity Interns Rebecca Chen and Janette Tang were awarded an Honorable Mention by the UCSF Short Term Dean’s Prize in Research Committee for their work to develop a Health Equity Curriculum for surgery and anesthesia trainees.

Dr. Mary Nabukenya awarded Makerere RIF Grant for National Workforce Planning – Uganda

CHESA collaborating faculty Dr. Mary Nabukenya, Lecturer at Makerere University has been awarded a competitive grant from the Makerere Research and Innovations Fund to conduct research on workforce trends and incentives and bring together national stakeholders for planning the Uganda national surgery, anesthesia and obstetric workforce scale-up.
